Make it easier for interested customers to get in touch

Help someone move from ‘this looks interesting’ to ‘let’s talk’, with less searching and more clarity.

An example website for a professional services business

A website gives you a place to explain your business. To support growth, it also needs to make the next step feel clear and manageable for the person reading it.

Match the action to the customer

A customer looking for a simple service may be ready to call. Someone considering a larger project may want to ask a few questions first. Your contact options should make room for the way people actually choose your business.

Keep the main action specific. ‘Ask about your project’ tells someone more than ‘Submit’. If you offer several ways to contact you, make one the main option and keep the others easy to find.

Answer the question before the enquiry

Think about the questions that come up in your first conversation. Explain the basics on your website so a customer has a clearer idea of what to ask you.

Share the areas you cover, the kind of work you take on, and how the process starts. Be clear about anything that needs a conversation or an individual quote. You do not have to promise the same solution to everyone.

Keep the first message simple

If you use an enquiry form, ask for the details you need to start a useful conversation. A name, a way to reply, and a short description may be enough for the first step.

Before a working form is launched, check where the message goes and what happens next. Make the confirmation honest: a saved draft, a sent message, and an accepted booking are different things. Customers should know which one has happened.

Look at what happens after the click

A clear website is only one part of the journey. Keep your contact details current and decide how you will handle incoming questions. If you mention a response time, choose one your business can realistically meet.

When enquiries arrive, notice what people still need explained. Those questions can guide your next website update. Growth is not guaranteed by a button, but a clearer path gives interested people a practical way to take the next step.
